MIG-21 FL Aircraft (Tail No C-1128)

 

This ac was presented to Bangladesh air force in recognition of the its contribution to the Bangladesh war of liberation. The Mig – 21 FL entered IAF service in 1963. The FL version was introduced in 1965 which continues to be in service till date. It was manufactured under license in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. The Indian Air Force used it both as an air interceptor and as a ground attack fighter, during the Bangladesh war of liberation, the MiG – 21 fl performed multifarious roles. Air defense, counter air operation, interdiction and battlefield strikes. It was presented by Air Chief Marshal AY Tipnis PVSM AVSM VM ADC Chief of the air staff Indian air force on  10th February 2000. Armament capability; 1XGuns x200 Rounds +2x500 kg Bombs or 2x16-57 mm rockets or 2x1kg-13 missiles. During Liberation of Bangladesh this aircraft flew for ground attack and air defense roles.

GNAT Aircraft (Tail No-996)

This ac was presented to Bangladesh air force in recognition of the gnat’s contribution to the Bangladesh war of liberation. The gnat was the lightest and smallest jet fighter ever made. It served in the Indian Air Force from 1958 to 1990. The IAF was the only air force, which used this aircraft extensively. It was manufactured under license in India by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. An outstanding agile dog-fighter aircraft. It was a terror to its adversaries in operation. India’s armed support to the Bangladesh war of liberation commenced with three Gnat shooting down three Pakistan air force sabres in the Bogra sector on 22 Nov 71. It was presented by Air Chief Marshal AY Tipnis PVSM AVSM VM ADC Chief of the air staff Indian air force on 10th February 2000. Armament capability; 02 X Guns x 90 Rounds +2 x 500 lb Bombs or 2 x 3” x 6 rockets.

AN- 24 Transport Aircraft (Tail No-0001)

This Russia made two turbo propelled engine operated aircraft was first flown on trial basis in 1958 and flown in April 1960. It was inducted in 1973 was known in BAF as BALAKA. It was officially used by the honorable President and Prime Minister. The fuel capacity of this aircraft was 5550 liters. Pilot, Co- pilots, Flight Engineer, Radio Operator and Navigator were the crew of the aircraft. It had the capacity for 44 passengers.
